Chief Engineer

Location: Seagoing

We have an excellent opportunity for a Chief Engineer to work on Condor’s fast craft ferries, on a permanent, full time contract.

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the safe, efficient organisation and economical operation of machinery, machinery spaces, electrical and electronic equipment at all times.

Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensure that the Company’s regulations affecting the machinery, machinery spaces, electrical and electronic equipment are carried out, in a safe economical manner.
  • The Chief Engineer is responsible for proper working of and all repairs to, the vessels propulsion and auxiliary machinery and systems, electrical, electronic, and surveillance equipment, structure and fittings.
  • The Chief Engineer will supervise the Engineering department and any shore maintenance personnel. They are to be present for critical maintenance procedures, in particular to sight closure of any bearings. After any repair or overhaul, any critical system is to be tested to the Chief Engineer or the Master’s satisfaction.

The successful candidate must have a CoC 111/2 Ticket (No Limitations) and a valid ENG1. They will have previous experience within a similar role, and ideally, have experience working on high speed ferries. The successful candidate will also be a team player, who is able to work effectively with all colleagues onboard, and a confident decision maker.

This role will predominately be onboard Condor Liberation.

Chief Officer

Location: Seagoing

We have an opportunity for a Chief Officer to join the team on our conventional Ro-Ro ferries, on a permanent, full time basis.

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the day to day upkeep and maintenance of the cosmetic structure of the vessel, cargo and ballasting operations, stability and stresses, deck stores, and the maintenance of all cargo.

Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • The Chief Officer is responsible to the Master for the safety of passengers and must liaise with the Cabin Manager and Engineer Officer to ensure their safety and wellbeing. 
  • The Chief Officer is responsible to the Master for the cleanliness of the Hull, Deck and Bridge areas. 

The successful candidate will hold a Chief Officer Unlimited CoC, and will have previous experience within a similar role. Ideally, they will also have experience working on conventional Ro-Ro ferries. They will be a good team player, and have the ability to remain calm under pressure, whilst being able to manage people.

Crewing Coordinator

Location: Poole

An opportunity has arisen to join Condor Ferries’ Operations team working as a Crewing Coordinator, on a full time, permanent basis.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the crewing department is supported on a day to day basis including crew logistics and rostering, organising travel and accommodation as required.

Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • To liaise with Crewing Manager or Head of Marine Operations with regards to ad-hoc crewing requirements.
  • To act as sole point of contact for all crew travel requirements
  • To enter drug and alcohol testing results into Share-point.
  • To book hotel accommodation for personnel should it be necessary.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills, and experience in booking accommodation and travel. Knowledge of creating crew rosters, and strong administration skills are essential, as well as a high attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

The successful candidate will also be expected to be on call for one week out of every three.

Fixed Term Contract - Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contact Centre Agent to join the team, on a fixed term contract, with an expected completion date of 31st March 2018.

The purpose of this role is to provide excellent customer service in accordance with Condor’s standards, regulations and requirements and to represent the company in a professional manner to its customers over the telephone, email, webchat and social media.

Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • To undertake the efficient and courteous answering of incoming telephone calls and make outgoing calls
  • To engage with people through multimedia contact: webchat, emails and social media
  • To provide the smooth and efficient processing of all basic reservations promoting all company products and services
  • To action and accurately relay information in all aspects of company operations, ensuring that all facts are correct

The successful candidate will have previous customer service experience, as well as good communication skills, a confident telephone manner, and accurate keyboard skills.
