Passenger Services Agent

Location: Guernsey

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Passenger Services Agent to join our friendly team at Guernsey Port on a Full Time basis.

Our business is built around offering our customers a memorable experience when travelling with us and it all starts with our Passenger Services Agents. This role involves assisting passengers at check in, answering enquiries and making new bookings both over the counter and telephone. On top of that, a huge responsibility of the role is about ensuring the Port is safe and the correct procedures are followed in an emergency.

Offering great customer service is at the heart of our business, so the ideal candidate will thrive in ensuring our customers have a high-quality experience when travelling with us. We are looking for someone with great interpersonal and communication skills, who is able to empathise with customers who may have had a disrupted journey. You will also need to be familiar with following Health and Safety regulations as well as procedures for cash and till handling.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure best working practice, processes and procedures are followed, paying particular attention to company health and safety regulations
  • Ensure correct COSHH and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Liaise with the duty Passenger Services Manager on a daily basis and highlight any H&S issues
  • Be fully aware of port and terminal emergency procedures
  • Provide a high level of customer service in accordance with Condor Ferries standards.
  • Assist in the checking-in of both vehicles and foot passengers and the marshalling of vehicles.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of all paperwork and administrative procedures relating to all vehicle, passenger, freight and vessel movements
  • Undertake the efficient over the counter bookings and enquiries
  • Provide the smooth and efficient processing of all basic reservations promoting all company products and services
  • Assist in achieving targets and standards as set down by the Ports and Operations Management team
  • Be competent in cash and till handling procedures
  • Receive payment for the carriage of freight, goods, passengers and their vehicles ensuring that all payments are reconciled accurately.
  • Assist the Contact Centre when required

This role involves early shifts on a regular basis and you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Steward (South Route)

Location: Seagoing

High Speed Craft operating from St Malo – Jersey – Guernsey

We are looking for fully certified, enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our dedicated Cabin crew on board Condor Rapide to deliver a first-class customer experience to our passengers. Enjoy a varied role with the opportunity to travel, learn new skills and meet a variety of people.

The following certification is required for this role:

Essential

- Personal Survival Techniques (PST/TIS)
- Elementary Fire Fighting (EFF/QBLI)
- Elementary First Aid (EFA/PSE)
- Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR/SPRS)
- Customer Service 

Preferable

Crowd Management (CM)
Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)
Proficiency in Survival and Rescue Boats (CPSC/CAEERS)
Manual Handling (MH)
- Basic Food Hygiene (BFH)
- Seafarer Medical Certificate (ENG1)

Safety is at the heart of our business, therefore the main responsibility of the role of a Steward is to ensure that our passengers are kept safe at all times, including in an emergency. Other responsibilities include welcoming and assisting passengers, serving passengers in the onboard shops & cafés, and ensuring that the ship is clean and tidy at all times.

In addition to full certification, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a good grasp of the English language, and be able to work effectively under pressure as part of a fun and energised team.  You will be able to manage your time effectively, be punctual, flexible and adaptable. Customer Service, Retail or Food and Beverage experience is essential. Please note that full familiarisation training will be provided.
