Payroll & Sales Ledger Assistant

Location: Guernsey

Payroll & Sales Ledger Assistant – Guernsey Based

 £20,000 – £25,000 dependent on experience.

 A new position has arisen within the Finance Department for a Payroll & Sales Ledger Assistant to support the Payroll Manager with all aspects of payroll across the company, handling pension contributions, raising invoices for Freight Division and assisting with the production of statutory financial reports.


 Key responsibilities will include

 Calculation and reporting of crew incentives

  • Back up person for running all payrolls and cover as required
  • Raising and reconciling Freight Billing
  • Handling Billing enquiries and offering a resolution
  • A role within the Finance team contributing to the production of both monthly and statutory reporting


 Reporting to the Credit Controller, this role will be based in Guernsey and the successful applicant will be expected to work a standard 35 hour week generally Monday - Friday, however flexibility will be required.


 The successful applicant will probably be qualified or studying for qualifications in a relevant subject area.

Fleet Engineering Intern

Disciplines accepted:
A predicted 2:1 degree (minimum) in either a BEng, MEng or MSc
            - Mechanical
            - Naval Architecture / Marine


The role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual wishing to gain work experience in the marine industry. In addition to the technical analyst role, the chosen candidate will gain first-hand experience of working with and around experienced Marine Engineers, both in the Fleet Engineering office and in the field (through exposure to yearly ship dry-docks). This experience will provide a good foundation for any candidate interested in pursuing a career as a marine engineer or with a ship classification society.

Students aren’t taken on as an extra resource; they are needed to fulfil the role of an engineer and contribute to the design and development of the vessels. The work is real, interesting and relevant to your studies.

As part of your responsibilities as a Fleet Engineering Intern you will be required to communicate with external suppliers as well as other departments within the company.

A mixture of office based analyst work and external visits to the vessels.
