Chief Engineer (High Speed Ferries)

We have a Permanent opportunitiy for a Chief Engineer, to predominantly work on Condor’s fast ferries operating out of Poole,but we would expect there to be the opportunity to work on our conventional ferries too..

 The successful applicant will have a 111/11 No Limitations Ticket and will be responsible for the safe, efficient organisation and economical operation of machinery, machinery spaces, electrical and electronic equipment at all times on board ship, working closely with the Master and Chief Officer.

Quay Marshall

Location: Portsmouth

Title: Quay Marshall  

 Contract: Permanent   Full time (40) hours

Based: Portsmouth

We have an opportunity for a Quay Marshall to be based at the Condor offices in Portsmouth Ferry Terminal.

This is a permanent contract, full time, (40 hours a week) with the expectation that you will be available to work weekends and Bank Holidays when rostered.  The working shift pattern is 06:00-14:00 or 14:00-22:00.

Purpose of this role is:

  • To inspect trailers on condition and record temperatures
  • To receive in unaccompanied cars and inspect condition
  • To deal with collections of unaccompanied cars
  • Carry out Lane checks
  • Collect/deliver passengers from/ to the Terminal building
  • Receive in stores deliveries
  • Marshal traffic on/off the vessels

In order to apply, you must have a full driving licence and customer service experience.

Asset Health Engineer

Location: Poole

Asset Health Engineer

Permanent

Based in Poole

The purpose of this role is to proactively improve long term asset health by diagnosing requirements and repairs and recommending replacements, upgrades and alternatives.  You will produce plans for long term reliability of assets and suggest new ideas and developments to improve the way we do things. You will have an understanding of ISO 55000 Standards in Asset Management.

You will be technically focused with an analytical approach and an excellent communicator with vast demonstrable experience in your field.  A background in industry such as Marine, Oil and Gas, Trains, Water, Automotive, Aeronautical, Manufacturing or Heavy Plant Engineering / Electronics would be desirable and you will also hold a degree in a related subject.

We are also keen to hear from you if you are a metallurgist with knowledge of tribology, fracture / fluid mechanics, failure analysis and subsequent antecedence and modern technology / testing and diagnosis of alternative materials.
