Passenger Services Agent

Location: Poole


We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Passenger Services Agent to join our friendly team at Poole Port on a Part Time basis.

Our business is built around offering our customers a memorable experience when travelling with us and it all starts with our Passenger Services Agents. This role involves assisting passengers at check in, answering enquiries and making new bookings both over the counter and telephone. On top of that, a huge responsibility of the role is about ensuring the Port is safe and the correct procedures are followed in an emergency.

Offering great customer service is at the heart of our business, so the ideal candidate will thrive in ensuring our customers have a high-quality experience when travelling with us. We are looking for someone with great interpersonal and communication skills, who is able to empathise with customers who may have had a disrupted journey. You will also need to be familiar with following Health and Safety regulations as well as procedures for cash and till handling.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure best working practice, processes and procedures are followed, paying particular attention to company health and safety regulations
  • Ensure correct COSHH and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Liaise with the duty Passenger Services Manager on a daily basis and highlight any H&S issues
  • Be fully aware of port and terminal emergency procedures
  • Provide a high level of customer service in accordance with Condor Ferries standards.
  • Assist in the checking-in of both vehicles and foot passengers and the marshalling of vehicles.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of all paperwork and administrative procedures relating to all vehicle, passenger, freight and vessel movements
  • Undertake the efficient over the counter bookings and enquiries
  • Provide the smooth and efficient processing of all basic reservations promoting all company products and services
  • Assist in achieving targets and standards as set down by the Ports and Operations Management team
  • Be competent in cash and till handling procedures
  • Receive payment for the carriage of freight, goods, passengers and their vehicles ensuring that all payments are reconciled accurately.
  • Assist the Contact Centre when required


The ships leave Poole dependant on the tides, which means that there are early shifts on a regular basis and you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Quay Marshall

Location: Portsmouth

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Quay Marshal as part of our Freight Team at Portsmouth Port. This role involves management of the vehicles for departures and arrivals into the Port, escorting customers to and from the terminal building, carrying out location checks and marshalling traffic on and off the ships.

Offering great customer service is at the heart of our business, so the ideal candidate will have experience in a customer facing role. It’s also important that you like working in the outdoors, as you will be required to work outside in all weather conditions. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Main Responsibilities

  • To inspect trailers on condition and record temperatures
  • To receive in unaccompanied cars and inspect condition
  • To deal with the collection of unaccompanied cars
  • Carry out trailer location checks
  • Collect/deliver customers from/to the Terminal Building
  • Receive in stores deliveries
  • Marshal traffic on/off the vessels.

This position involves working shifts and weekends worked on a rota basis. The hours of operation cover from 6am to 10pm.

In return you can expect a salary of £15,600 per annum, a pension and concessionary travel on our ships.

Electrical Support Engineer

Location: Seagoing

We are seeking a full time Electrical Support Engineer to maintain our High speed and Conventional vessels. The position will require the individual to cover sickness, leave and training across fleet for the Electrical Team. When working on a vessel you will be managed by the Ships Chief Engineer, with your direct line manager being the Systems Engineer.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • The organisation, planning and implementation of all Electrical and Electronic repairs and maintenance onboard our fleet. Successful candidates will be required to work on:
  1. Vessel steering systems (Wartzilla), fault finding and calibrating.
  2. Generator control and power management and synchronisation.
  3. Fire Detection Systems.
  4. Audio Visual equipment and PA systems.
  5. Engine monitoring and control systems.
  6. Navigational and Radio equipment.
  • Providing technical support and advice to the Chief Engineer and Ship Manager and ensuring compliance with all marine regulations and legislation.

Who we're looking for:

Working onboard, the successful candidate must have great electrical and electronic knowledge, and preferably have a Marine Engineering background. Experience of 415V power generation and distribution, 3 phase motors and starters will be an advantage.

This will be a challenging role, so we are looking for a determined, self-motivated, confident and conscientious individual who can communicate at all levels.
