When you arrive at the port please follow signs to check-in. For motorists, we advise arriving 90-120 minutes before departure and check-in will close 60 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Please leave plenty of time to arrive at the port for check-in.
For foot passengers, we advise arriving 70 minutes before departure and check-in will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Please leave plenty of time to arrive at the port for check-in.

Disabled Services
If you require assistance getting through the Port please advise the ferry company when booking or a member of staff when checking in. There are toilet facilities for people with disabilities throughout the Port. A special minibus service is available to help wheelchair users or those with reduced mobility and their companions board the ship. Assistance is also available for those travelling by car, enabling parking on the car decks close to the lifts. The Port car park has designated spaces for people with disabilities and/or reduced mobility and there are additional bays adjacent to the main terminal building. Please request these at the time of booking. An accessible toilet with ceiling tracking hoist, height adjustable adult-sized changing bench and peninsular toilet is located on the ground floor of the terminal building. It is accessible by radar key.

Short & Long Stay Car Park
In front of the terminal is a free car park for short and long stays. Part of the car park is reserved for motorhomes and caravans. Vehicles are parked at the owner's risk. Toilets are open 24 hours. A secure car park is available behind the terminal for €5 per day.

Take the N13 to Caen and the D901 to Cherbourg. Once in Cherbourg, it is easy to find the port, which is clearly signposted.
A free shuttle bus, run by the port authority, is available from Cherbourg port to La Cité de la Mer, near the town centre. It is not suitable for disabled passengers. It leaves approximately 30 minutes after the ferry arrives.
A free shuttle bus is available, please see above. If you wish to walk, it takes approximately 20-30 minutes to the town centre and 40 minutes to the train station from the terminal.
Regular services operate from Cherbourg train station to Caen, Rouen, Paris St Lazare (via Caen) and Rennes (via Lison). The station is in the centre of town and is a 5 minute taxi journey from the ferry terminal.
Travelling on Foot
Before you travel, we will have emailed you an e-boarding pass. Please print this off and bring it with you on the day. Or, if you plan to show it on a mobile phone or tablet, please have this ready for our port team when you arrive at the terminal, with the brightness turned up.
Travelling by Car
Please print off the e-boarding pass we will have sent you, and bring it with you on the day, placing the itinerary page (pink copy) on your dashboard. If you’re using a mobile phone or tablet to show your boarding pass, please have this ready for our Port staff when you arrive at check-in, with the brightness turned up.
