Bicycles with Condor Ferries

Travelling with YOUR BIKE

Travelling withyour bicycle

Cycling is a great way to explore our destinations, and we make it as easy and affordable as we can for you. If you’re travelling by car and bringing bikes with you, head to the Travelling with your car section. If you’re travelling as a foot passenger you’ll find everything you need to know right here.

Booking in your bicycle

If you’re travelling as a foot passenger there’s no charge for taking your bike, but space is limited, so you need to include the bike when you make your booking, by selecting ‘Bicycle - wheeled on’ in the Extras page. Alternatively you can call us on 0345 609 1024.

If you’ve booked through an agent or tour operator you should make sure they include this option in your booking. If you haven’t booked in your bike online, or called us before you travel, we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to accept your bike on the day.

Checking-in with a bicycle

Check-in will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Please leave plenty of time to arrive at the port for check-in. We recommend you plan your journey carefully in advance, and keep an eye on our sailing updates too, for any changes in departure times.

When you arrive at the port, just follow the signs to Condor Ferries Vehicle Check-in, making sure you have your booking reference number at the ready, as well as your photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence. If you’re travelling to France don’t forget to have your passports handy too.

Getting onto the ship with a bicycle

You’ll be guided onto the ship by our experienced crew, and because our ships stop at more than one port, everything has to be loaded in a specific order. So please be patient, as it’s not necessarily first come first served. Bicycles must be walked onboard and once you are on the ship you’ll be directed to a safe bike storage area, where the crew will secure your bike for the journey – we ask you not to lock your bike please, we’ll take good care of it!

Appropriately sized baggage can be taken in to the cabin, but large items of baggage must remain with the bike, or be placed in the baggage pods. We recommend that any panniers you leave on your bike are locked. If you need any help just talk to a crew member when boarding with your bicycle.

When you leave the vehicle deck make sure you have everything you need with you for the crossing, including your boarding pass, (which you’ll need if you plan to buy anything from our onboard duty free shop), and follow the signs to the main cabin.

There you can enjoy a wide variety of hot food and snacks, a drink in one of our bars, and also make massive savings on your favourite brands, in our onboard duty-free shop!

Getting off the ship with a bicycle

The Cabin Manager will announce when it is safe collect your bike from the car deck, and disembark, but please take care when arriving at the car deck.
