Jersey, the warmest island in the British Isles, has an abundance of beaches that cater for all holiday-goers. Whether you're looking for a relaxing, sun-bathing escape or a coastal adventure, you'll be able to find the perfect Jersey beach to suit you.

With 43.5 miles of coastline to pick from, look to the south for St Brelade's Bay, the most popular beach on the island. With golden sands and clear blue waters, St Brelade's is perfect for families. To the west is St Ouen's Bay, a five-mile stretch of coast, three of which consisting of soft sands where you can park up a blanket and enjoy a picnic. Weather dependent, parts of the west coast are perfect for surfing and water sports so if you fancy riding some waves or splashing about in a kayak, St Ouen's is a great base.

Whatever your beaching style, staying in a waterfront hotel means the beach is on your doorstep, so you can make the most out of the beautiful island's coastline. Browse our holiday packages which include ferry travel, hotel and free breakfast. Best coastal & beach destinations in Jersey

St Brelade’s Bay

St Brelade’s Bay is one of the most popular beaches in Jersey due to its golden sand, clear waters and hours of beaming sunshine. The beach is safe, easily accessible and boasts fantastic views across the south of the island. It is the ideal location for families as it has a variety of water sports centres where you can test out your skills on the water. And, once the kids start getting hungry, there are several fun family-friendly seaside restaurants and cafés you can take them to, only a stone’s throw away. You really need to experience the magic of St Brelade’s Bay for yourself and discover the reason why it has been frequently voted by TripAdvisor as one of the best beaches in the UK!

St Aubin’s Bay

This beautiful bay lies on the south west of the island and was built in Victorian times, designed to be a safe place for swimmers at low tide. Saint Aubin Beach has the benefit of being close to St Helier, whilst being moments away from a range of unique restaurants, shops and cafés, all filled with the island’ charm. The bay is overlooked by Elizabeth Castle, the island’s primary defensive fortress which has defended Jersey for over 400 years! As the beach is south-facing, the golden sands are basked in the sun all day in the summer, making it perfect for the ultimate beach day.

St Ouen’s Bay

St. Ouen’s Bay is the gorgeous stretch of coastline on the west coast of the island. The Bay is five miles long with three of those filled with golden sandy beaches just waiting to be discovered. As the beach is so long, no matter how busy it gets, you’ll always be able to find your own space of calm if you want a relaxing sun-bathing day. Alternatively, if you want a bit more of an action-filled beach experience, St Ouen’s is the home of water sports. The bay is considered one of the best locations in the Channel Islands for surfing, and the beach is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the high season as it can be hazardous at times due to the strong currents.

St Helier Beach

St. Helier Beach is often overlooked by the buzzing capital but is worth visiting on your island visit. The beach is a crescent of golden sand with a long pier that stretches into the town’s marina. St Helier Beach is a perfect place for wildlife lovers with plenty of rockpools to explore during low tide. Elizabeth Castle is to the south of the beach, and when the tide allows, you can walk across the causeway to l’Islet, the island that the castle resides on. The beach is only a ten minute walk from the city centre, making it the perfect beach spot for those also wanting to explore the shops, the Maritime Museum, Waterfront Gardens and Jersey Museum & Art Gallery.

Explore Jersey on your beach holiday

Although just nine miles by five, Jersey’s 43.5 miles of coastline has the beaches to suit all holidays, ages, and weather conditions. Whether you choose to relax on the golden sands to soak up the sun with a cocktail, ride the waves at St Ouen’s, explore the rock pools around St Helier Beach, or simply grab an ice-cream made with Jersey cream and watch the gorgeous waters lap against the shore, you’ll become drawn to the charm of the island, and it will keep you coming back for more.
