Jersey is renowned for its stunning landscapes, historical past, and charming blend of British and French influences. Immerse yourself in Jersey’s rich history with a stay in one of Jersey Heritage’s unique properties in some of Jersey’s unforgettable landmarks. The island offers a variety of unique accommodations that promise to make your stay one to remember.
One mile off the coast of St Helier, Elizabeth Castle is one of Jersey’s most iconic landmarks. Elizabeth Castle dates back to 1590 and defended Jersey for more than 400 years; it was once home King Charles II who sought refuge during the English Civil War. Built on a rocky islet, the castle is surrounded by sea twice a day and can be accessed by the castle ferry or by walking across the causeway at low tide.
The apartment is split over 2 levels and overlooks the Governor’s House and parade ground. It can accommodate up to six people, with a spacious bedroom including one double and two singles on the upper level, and a double sofa bed in the living area on the lower level, along with kitchen and shower room.
The iconic castle is cut off from the mainland at least twice a day, and when closed to the public you’ll have the beautiful surroundings to yourself to climb the battlements, explore the bunkers, and even take a dip in the sea from the Castle’s private beach. A stay in Elizabeth Castle is certainly going to be one to remember!
Located in St Lawrence, in the heart of Jersey’s countryside, The Cider Barn apartment is set within Hamptonne, a 15th-century idyllic farmstead with thatched granite houses, stables, and meadows. The farm has 45 acres to explore, along with a look into the island’s cider production, including working apple crusher and cider press, Jersey Royals, and the famous Jersey cow.
The property was sold to the National Trust for Jersey in 1987 and restored in conjunction with the States of Jersey, Sociéte Jersiaise, and Jersey. The Cider Barn apartment was restored in 2012 into a 3-bedroom apartment, which accommodates up to 6 people. It has retained many of its original features, including original wooden beams, plastering work, and early 19th Century graffiti. There are 2 double bedrooms and a twin bunk room offering views across the courtyards and meadows, open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room, plus a shower room and toilet.
This beautiful property is perfect for a romantic or family getaway and is perfectly located for you to explore the Jersey countryside.
The Stable apartment is also situated in the rural Hamptonne farmstead. It’s a fully equipped self-catering apartment in the heart of the Jersey countryside, surrounded by beautiful meadows and stables. The apartment has low hanging beams, an open plan lounge, dining room, and kitchen, along with one double bedroom and one bunk room with 2 single beds.
Hamptonne has beautiful open spaces including an orchard and a meadow, perfect for kids to run around. Depending on the time of year the farm will be home to chickens, cows and pigs!
The Stable and Cider Barn can be booked together and accommodate up to 10 people.
