Jersey ON FOOT

There really is nothing like a lengthy stroll in a new locale to see the sights and enjoy the great outdoors. Fortunately, the island of Jersey lends itself to this perfectly, with its grand array of stunning vistas, all easily accessed thanks to its small scale. Read on to discover a few relaxing walks, provided by Jersey’s tourist information centre and recommended by us for those in search of a slice of adventure, but not without a slice of cake and a cup of tea afterwards.

Harbour Walk

Perhaps you’re looking for something to do right off the ferry in St Helier harbour. If so, you’re in luck. Starting in Liberation Square, a 2-mile circular harbour stroll will allow you to take in the beauty and history of the capital’s gorgeous harbour, from its promenade and monuments, to its near-unbeatable sea views.

Mount Bingham

If you want to see the sights from a higher perspective, exploring Mount Bingham may be the ideal walk for you. While still a relaxed journey, a 2.5-mile circular walk in this area will provide unforgettable views as you look out from above southern Jersey and the St. Helier harbour.

Gorey and Grouville

If it’s a slightly more extensive adventure you’re after, exploring Gorey and its surroundings should make for the perfect day out! Located on the east coast of Jersey, this fishing village is known for its food, harbour, and the great Mont Orgueil castle that overlooks the landscape. Heading inland from the bay will allow you to explore more of the parish of Grouville, with its great deal of wildlife and stunning church. A 5.2 mile walk around Gorey and Grouville is a great opportunity to see all these sights, and what better way to top it all off than a filling meal with a sea view on the picturesque harbour?

St. Peters Windmill to St. Quen’s Bay

Part of the pleasure of visiting a seaside location is the view of the sea, marvellously expanding before you as you stroll down to its shore. This relaxed 2.5-mile walk from St. Peters Windmill to St. Quen’s Bay will take you downhill to the sea and give you the chance to admire Jersey’s brilliant west coast and its historic features, such as St. Quen’s Manor and Kempt Tower.

These are just a few of the adventurous walks and relaxing strolls that Jersey has to offer. Now it’s
down to you to explore the island to your heart’s content. For more information, head over to
