Each September, the group returns to commemorate the 1943 sinking of HMS Limbourne and HMS Charybdis, when over 500 lives were lost and 20 sailors laid to rest in Guernsey with full military honours.
This year’s visit included a dinner, the Malaya Cup football match against a Guernsey FA team and the annual memorial service at Le Foulon Cemetery. The service was attended by 101-year old John Eskdale, the last survivor to be rescued from HMS Charybdis who we also brought to the Island.
The trip is organised in partnership with the Guernsey Association of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Merchant Navy.
