  • Cabin Manager

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Cabin Manager to join the crew onboard, predominately onboard Commodore Clipper

    Location: Predominately onboard Commodore Clipper

    The purpose of this role is to manage the cabin, leading by example and ensuring professionalism at all times to both our passengers and fellow crew members. They will also play a key role in supporting and implementing any new initiatives onboard.

    Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

    • Operational management responsibility for the cabin crew as well as people management responsibility
    • Ensuring the highest level of customer service is shown to all passengers at all times
    • To be aware of marine safety practices at all times
    • All stock/monies and all administration relating to the vessel’s cabin operation
    • Upselling
    • Management of the food hygiene policy
    • Ships Security Officer onboard

    The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with excellent leadership qualities and great people management skills. They will also have proven customer service experience and a positive approach to work.

    The intended location for this role is predominately onboard Commodore Clipper and is a live in position working on a two week on two week off rotational pattern.

    Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

    • Prepare inward and outward Customs paperwork
    • Deal with customer enquiries and bookings by phone, email and in person
    • Providing a high level of customer service in accordance with Condor Ferries’ standards, regulations and requirements
    • Produce paperwork/lists for the operational turnaround
    • Deal with Hazardous Goods (IDMG) cargo enquiries, bookings and paperwork
    • Distribute authorised gate passes to collecting drivers

  • Chief Officer, Class 1

    Location: predominantly on our High Speed Crafts

    The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the day to day upkeep and maintenance of the cosmetic structure of the vessel, cargo and ballasting operations, stability and stresses, deck stores, and the maintenance of all cargo.

    Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

    • The Chief Officer is the vessel's Navigating officer and as such is responsible to the Master for the custody of all relevant charts, light lists, tide tables and navigational publications including corrections thereof. They must advise the Master if there are any delays in receiving the consecutive Notices to Mariners. 
    • The Chief Officer is responsible to the Master for the cleanliness of the Hull, Deck and Bridge areas.
    • The Chief Officer is responsible to the Master for the safety of passengers and must liaise with the Cabin Manager and Engineer Officer to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

    The successful candidate will hold a Chief Officer Unlimited CoC, and will have previous experience within a similar role. Ideally, they will also have experience working on conventional Ro-Ro ferries. They will be a good team player, and have the ability to remain calm under pressure, whilst being able to manage people.

    • To assist with checking-in, marshalling, loading/unloading and collection of passengers and vehicles to and from all company vessels  
    • To assist in the preparation and completion of all paperwork and administrative procedures relating to all vehicle, passenger and vessel movements  
    • To assist in achieving targets and standards as set down by the Ports and Operations Management team  
    • To be competent in cash and till handling procedures  

     

    The successful candidate will have previous customer service experience, including excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. They will be a strong team player and have strong computer skills.

    The intended location for this role is in Poole, with occasional travel to Portsmouth Port.
