  • Chief Engineering Officer

    We have an excellent opportunity for a Chief Engineering Officer to work on Condor’s High Speed Crafts, on a permanent full time contract.

    Location: Onboard our High Speed Crafts

    The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the safe, efficient organisation and economical operation of machinery, machinery spaces, electrical and electronic equipment at all times.

    Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

    • Ensure that the Company’s regulations affecting the machinery, machinery spaces, electrical and electronic equipment are carried out, in a safe economical manner.
    • The Chief Engineer is responsible for proper working of and all repairs to, the vessels propulsion and auxiliary machinery and systems, electrical, electronic, and surveillance equipment, structure and fittings.
    • The Chief Engineer will supervise the Engineering department and any shore maintenance personnel. They are to be present for critical maintenance procedures, in particular to sight closure of any bearings. After any repair or overhaul, any critical system is to be tested to the Chief Engineer or the Master’s satisfaction.

    The successful candidate must have a CoC 111/2 Ticket (No Limitations) and a valid ENG1. They will have previous experience within a similar role, and ideally, have experience working on high speed ferries. The successful candidate will also be a team player, who is able to work effectively with all colleagues onboard, and a confident decision maker.

    This role will predominately be onboard our High Speed Crafts.

  • Junior Ship Manager

    We have an opportunity for a Junior Ship Manager to join our Fleet and Asset team.

    Location: Poole

    The purpose of this role is to assist the Ship Manager, who is the Asset Manager for the ship, in the delivery availability in accordance the schedule of the allocated vessel(s). They will work very closely with the Senior Master and the ship’s executive team to ensure his ship is kept technically safe (and comfortable), legally compliant and reliable at minimum whole life cost.

    Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

    Needs to integrate with and support; Safety and Compliance - SMS, Operations and OBS leads.

    • Development of the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
    • Manage and co-ordinate condition monitoring activities for assigned vessels and assist in the development of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) policies.
    • Work with the Environmental Officer to develop and maintain fuel efficiency policies (As per SEEMP Parts 1 & 2).
    • Work with the Environmental Office to ensure efficient CO2 data management.
    • Carry out Root Cause Analysis for technical incidents to eliminate future defects.
    • Provide project management support to the ship’s executive team as designated by Ship Manager.
    • Liaise with shore and ship-based management (OBS, IT and Marine) to ensure all the planned tasks, projects and defects are correctly resourced so that they are completed safely and to the correct quality standard.
