Seasonal Chief Officer

Condor Ferries is the leading operator of high speed and conventional ro-ro vessels between the UK, Channel Islands and France.  We are currently recruiting for  Seasonal Chief Officers to join our friendly team on our high speed craft.

Expected rota of one week on, one week off to start April until October 2013.

Qualifications: Min STCW (95) Reg II/1 Chief Officer

2nd Officer (Conventional Ro/Ro)

We are currently recruiting for a 2nd Officer to work onboard our Conventional Ferries operating from Portsmouth and the Channel Islands on a fixed term contract currently the 31st October 2013, at the end of the term this will be reviewed. You will be rostered on two weeks on two weeks off basis. Qualifications: STCW (95) OOW cert.

Applicants must have experience of working on ro/ro vessels and previously sailed in the position of 2nd Officer.

Warehouse Agent (Temporary)

We are looking for a temporary Warehouse Agent from April through to September 2013.

Shifts will be on a 4 days on 4 days off pattern and may involve late working and weekends. Example shifts are:

06.00 – 17.00
10.00 – 21.00
14.00 – 01.00

Duties will include taking receipt of deliveries, checking and locating stock in the warehouse system, picking and packing and dispatching stock to our ferries.

The successful candidate will work within a small and friendly team and be a vital part of the Condor Ferries organisation.

Successful candidates must hold a vehicle driving licence a counterbalance and or Reach Forklift licence. 7.5 ton truck experience would be an advantage but, most importantly, a flexible attitude is essential.

Salary is £15,600 per annum pro rata including paid holidays pro rata to period of employment. In addition to this you would also be eligible for immediate concessionary travel on all company vessels.

Seasonal Steward/ess

Condor Ferries seasonal onboard crew required (salary £14,119.20 pro-rata)

Condor Ferries is currently recruiting for seasonal onboard crew. Onboard we have a large Duty Free shop selling world class brands such as Chanel, Dior, Gucci,  Moët Chandon, Lanson, Gordon’s and Smirnoff.  In Food and Beverage we have Costa coffee shops, Casquets Bistro offering a full range of hot and cold meals and a newly re-furbished Ocean Bar.  

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, confident individuals who are passionate about giving great customer service to our guests onboard. You will probably have a background in retailing or catering with known high street brands. As well as guest safety and comfort, you will be expected to have a positive attitude to selling and interacting with guests. Therefore strong communication skills,  a confident selling ability and merchandising experience is essential.

We travel from Poole and Weymouth (from July) to Guernsey, Jersey and St. Malo and if you think you have got what it takes to give our guests a fantastic experience, then we look forward to hearing from you. Please submit your full C.V.

Full safety training will be given and form part of your induction programme. At the end of the season we will look to retain our very best recruits.

SQL Developer

We are currently recruiting for a full time SQL Developer within Condor Ferries to work within our IT team.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Log, assign and action calls on the helpdesk system
• Create InfoPath forms and SharePoint 2010 lists/libraries to support new Enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Create SSIS/SSAS packages for data cleansing and integration.
• Develop SSRS reports and dashboards as defined by business needs.
• Develop the databases for static and OLAP cube reporting.
• Create extraction mechanisms for pulling data from other data sources.
• Provide full documentation of all code produced.
• Testing of produced SQL code.
• Support of exiting SQL databases and reports in use across the group.
• Database / performance testing, tuning and QA
• Requirements capture and documentation
• Provide training and mentoring to colleagues 

Skills Specification for the role is: 

• SQL 2005/2008 development skills
• SharePoint knowledge (beneficial but not essential)
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Willingness to learn and develop on existing skill base 

This role reports to the IT Development Manager and is based in Poole but may require some travel to the Channel Islands.
