PLAN YOUR TRIP
If you’re looking for an attraction that will thrill three generations of the same family - Tamba Park is it.
Everyone’s raving about Jersey’s fun-filled hotspot from the rope swings and zip-wires of the outdoor play areas to the scenic fish-filled lakes, tree-lined picnic areas and lush tropical gardens. Spend time enjoying the different sections of the park, which is a triumph of master-planning, as it unfurls slowly before you to reveal secluded leafy outer reaches.
Amble through the magical sculpture park where impressive wood-carved life-like animals delight squealing children keen to identify each species and mimic their calls, roars and squawks. Scenic boat rides across duck-scattered lakes are a particularly popular highlight as are meeting the eagles, hawks and falcons at the Birds of Prey Centre. Yet it is the dinosaur park that undoubtedly provides the awesome pièce de résistance: an amazing sharp-toothed animated showcase filled with prehistoric spectacles in an incredible primeval setting, the Dino Trail is home to a special type of moving multi-magic that ensures everyone leaves utterly spellbound.
Tamba Park is ideal for kids of all ages and there’s a great café if you need a food and drink stop. Admission is exceptional value (at just £4.95 for full park access for children aged 2-14, £3.95 for 14-60 year olds & £2.95 for 60+ - and even cheaper during the week.) and brings with it the added bonus of benefiting hungry children in Zimbabwe through Ruffs Kitchen.
As a country with over 90 per cent unemployment, and no real government infrastructure, Zimbabwe has very little to offer its people. Children walk miles to school each day on empty stomachs - and with no food provided at school and no guarantee of a meal when they get home many rely on Ruff’s Kitchens for their survival. The charity was launched in April 2012 and is run by the Ruff family, the owners of Tamba Park. To date the charity has set up seven kitchens in schools Zimbabwe-wide, which has seen a rise in attendance and helped children improve concentration in lessons to learn and develop more. This is all down to one simple meal each day. Ruff’s Kitchens is making a huge difference to many lives, schools and communities in Zimbabwe and plans to be feeding over 20,000 children each day across 30 schools by 2018! All the profits made at Tamba Park go to the Ruff’s Kitchens Charity - so every time you visit the money you spend makes a difference!
