The purpose of this role is to maintain essential relationships with suppliers, contractors, Ship Managers, Superintendents & Chief Engineers, while working closely with our Warehouse Manager to ensure requests by all departments are satisfied in a timely manner.
Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:
• In conjunction with the Ships Managers and Warehouse Operations Manager Overseeing Engineering procurement activity for spares, plant and services.
• Setting up and running the Key supplier and contractor control system
• Being responsible for all item landed from the vessel for overhaul / disposal / replacement ensuring they are repaired by competent persons and are fully tested and ready to be re issued to the vessel.
• Sourcing and Managing plant hire contractors for items required • Disposal of redundant equipment from warehouse as required generating suitable documentation for traceability.
The successful candidate will have experience in an engineering environment and will have great communication skills and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
This position does involve On Call duties, on roster basis.
