PLAN YOUR TRIP
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the day to day upkeep and maintenance of the cosmetic structure of the vessel, cargo and ballasting operations, stability and stresses, deck stores, and the maintenance of all cargo.
Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:
• The Chief Officer is the vessel’s Navigating officer and as such is responsible to the Master for custody of all relevant charts, light lists, tide tables and navigational publications including corrections thereof. They must advise the Master if there are any delays in receiving the consecutive Notices to Mariners.
• The Chief Officer is responsible to the Master for the safety of passengers and must liaise with the Cabin Manager and Engineer Officer to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
• The Chief Officer is responsible to the Master for the cleanliness of the Hull, Deck and Bridge areas.
The successful candidate will hold a Chief Officer Unlimited CoC, and will have previous experience within a similar role. Ideally, they will also have experience working on high speed ferries. They will be a good team player, and have the ability to remain calm under pressure, whilst being able to manage people.
