The first sailing of the state-of-the-art Condor Liberation is just days away. With just three days left to wait until the first sailing of the state-of-the-art fast ferry, Condor Liberation, the anticipation and excitement is building at Poole-based Condor Ferries.

Condor Liberation is the first vessel of its kind in Northern Europe; she features a trimaran (three hull) design offering greater stability and better sea-keeping abilities and will provide a smoother ride for her passengers.

Marking a new era in sea travel, the new ship represents a £50 million investment by Condor Ferries and demand to travel on this exciting new vessel is growing, with hundreds of passengers already booked for her inaugural sailing from Poole to the Channel Islands on Friday 27 March.

Alicia Andrews, Executive Director – Commercial at Condor Ferries, commented: “Our first sailing for Condor Liberation is now just days away, and we are very much looking forward to introducing our superb new ship to passengers and our local community. Condor Liberation will offer a much more luxurious and comfortable journey from Poole to the Channel Islands and we hope our customers will take advantage and explore these beautiful islands, either for a day trip, a short break, or a longer holiday.”

Bruce Grant-Braham, Chairman of the Poole Tourism Partnership added: “Poole is already a well established and popular destination for passengers travelling to and from the Channel Islands and France, and this brings a lot of trade to local restaurants, hotels, Bed & Breakfast and Guest House businesses. Condor’s investment is adding a superb, high quality service that demonstrates real confidence and will have a huge impact on tourism in the town and the wider economy. And with Condor Liberation, Poole will have a new iconic vessel of which the town can be incredibly proud.”

Inside, the fast ferry offers an impressive new Duty Free shop, Adore, children’s play area, plus a range of eating and drinking outlets, offering hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks. Passengers can also choose from three new seating lounges, including two upgrade areas: the Horizon Lounge, which offers panoramic views via floor-to-ceiling windows; and the Ocean Club Lounge with its all-leather reclining seats and first-class at-seat steward service.

Guernsey’s Director of Marketing and Tourism, Mike Hopkins, added: “The arrival of Condor Liberation is great news for Guernsey. The new boat is a fabulous and impressive vessel; it is modern, well-appointed and extremely comfortable, and it will only enhance our visitors experience when coming to the island.”

Director of Jersey Tourism, David de Carteret, said: “We are delighted that Condor Ferries has introduced this new high speed ferry on the Jersey route. They have shown their commitment to the Islands through this significant investment, which offers improved reliability, increased capacity and a greater level of comfort for our visitors.

“This complements the investment we have had across the Jersey product which has been essential to the success of the destination; there is so much competition in the travel industry, we have to keep investing to compete.”

Condor’s new ferry, Condor Liberation, will sail daily from Poole to the Channel Island’s throughout the summer, offering more opportunities to travel, improved reliability and a much greater level of comfort with smoother journeys.
