  • Cafe Assistant

    We have an opportunity for a Café Assistant to join the team in our Harry Rocks Café on a part time, fixed term basis.

     

    Location: Poole

    The purpose of this role is to assist the Café Supervisor with the efficient running of Harry Rocks Café and Snack Bar. This will include all aspects of the café operation including equipment & facilities, Health & Safety, customer care and administration.

    Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

    • To set and maintain the highest standards of customer service in the café
    • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness at all times
    • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work
    • Ensure the safe operation of the café and use equipment in a safe manner
    • Ensure all administration, documentation, logs and records are compiled, updated and stored as per company procedures

    The successful candidate will have a Food Hygiene qualification, and have experience of working within a café environment and with cash handling. They will have excellent customer service skills, and have the ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations.

    The location for this role is in our Harry Rocks Café in Poole.

  • ETO/Electrical Engineer

    We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to maintain the vessels in our Fleet. 

    Location: On board

    Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:


    • The organisation, planning and implementation of all Electrical and Electronic repairs and maintenance onboard our Fleet. The successful candidate will be required to work on:
    o Vessel steering systems, fault finding and calibrating.
    o Generator control and power management and synchronisation.
    o Fire Detection Systems.
    o Audio Visual equipment and PA systems.
    o Engine monitoring and control systems.
    o Navigational and Radio equipment.
    • Providing technical support and advice to the Chief Engineer and Ship Manager and ensuring compliance with all marine regulations and legislation.


    As you will be working as the sole Electrical Engineer on-board, the successful candidate must have good electrical and electronic knowledge, and preferably have a Marine engineering background. Experience of 415V power generation and distribution and 3 phase motors and starters would be beneficial.


    This will be a challenging role, so we are looking for a determined, self-motivated, confident and conscientious individual that can communicate at all levels and has a minimum of five years’ experience working within Electrical engineering.


    The location for this role will be on-board.

  • Customer Service Crew

    We have exciting opportunity for 4 Customer Service Crew members to join our team on a seasonal basis. 

    Location: Poole

    The purpose of this role is to deliver the highest level of customer service skills at all times and to ensure a positive customer experience for our passengers.

     Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

    • To assist with checking-in, marshalling, loading/unloading and collection of passengers and vehicles to and from all company vessels

    • To assist in the preparation and completion of all paperwork and administrative procedures relating to all vehicle, passenger and vessel movements

    • To assist in achieving targets and standards as set down by the Ports and Operations Management team

    • To be competent in cash and till handling procedures

    The successful candidate will have previous customer service experience, including excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. They will be a strong team player and have relevant computer skills.

  • Seasonal Cabin Crew

    Spend the summer with the Condor team, as part of the Cabin Crew on board our high-speed ferries!

    Location: Poole

    We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals to join our crew, who will be responsible for delivering a first-class customer experience on board our high-speed ferries sailing between Poole and the Channel Islands. This is an exciting opportunity to kick start your career in the travel industry.

    We have vacancies on a fixed term contract until October 2019 on a full-time basis, which have the potential to be extended or even made permanent should you do well in the role.

    What will my role on board involve?

    Safety is at the heart of our business, therefore the main responsibility of our deck crew and cabin crew is to ensure that our passengers are kept safe at all times, including in an emergency. Other responsibilities include welcoming and assisting passengers, serving passengers in the onboard shops and cafes, and ensure that the ship is kept clean and tidy at all times.

    Condor Ferries operates on a 24 hour, 7 days per week operation, which means that shifts cover early mornings, nights and over weekends too. 

    The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be able to work effectively under pressure as part of a fun and energising team.  You will need to be able to manage your time effectively and have a flexible and adaptable approach. Experience in a customer facing role is essential, and experience within the retail or food & beverage industry would be beneficial.

  • Commercial Sales Consultant

    The Commercial team are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to support the onboard selling initiative.

    Location: Poole

    The Commercial team are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to support the onboard selling initiative. You would be accountable to the Commercial team and will also spend some time in the office working up plans and supporting the administrative elements of the function.

    You may be deployed on different vessels during the season, you will manage your own time and Rota ensuring the required hours are achieved each week, the key deliverables on board will be helping passengers to buy whilst in their seat, enticing them into the shop, getting passengers to sample or test products, selling through slow selling items and promotional offers, amongst other things. Customer interaction and selling techniques are a key part of this role also a second language would be beneficial, English, French or German given the routes operated. Job and product knowledge training will be provided.

    Key duties and responsibilities

    • Liaison with Head of Retail and F&B on key duties and plans
    • Undertakes and leads customer sampling on board.
    • Develops and delivers a programme of ‘in-seat’ and table top selling initiatives for both retail and F&B.
    • Monitors and implements merchandising plans on board
    • Supports the OBS Managers in office admin when shore based, shore time will be once a week in full season
    • Understands weekly APS targets and delivers and exceeds the company target.
    • Ensures all point of sale (POS) is in place and that all POS is current.
    • Further liaison with warehouse, Ops, Sales & Marketing and crew colleagues on sales priorities.

    The successful candidate will be customer service driven, enjoy interacting and responding to customers needs and display commercial awareness. They will also have strong teamwork skills and show desire to learn about products to enhance selling skills.

    Job Type: Full Time, 12-month Contract

    Salary: Up to £22,000.00
