Currency The currency in Guernsey is sterling. The States of Guernsey issue their own notes and coins, but all UK notes and coins are legal tender.
Driving Driving is on the left hand side. There is a maximum speed enforcement of 35 miles per hour, with further restrictions in built up areas.
Parking Parking in Guernsey operates on a Disc Parking Scheme. Parking Discs are £1.55 and are available onboard the ferry and at the Guernsey Information Centre.
Shopping On Sundays and Bank Holidays almost everything is closed. You can buy alcohol in pubs on Sunday lunchtimes between 1200h – 1500h but on a Sunday evening you must buy a meal in order to drink alcohol.

Climate The climate is temperate with mild winters and cool sunny summers. The warmest months are August and September.
Camping Caravans travelling from the UK or Europe are currently not allowed in Guernsey. Motorhomes are permitted on the island but must obtain a permit through a designated campsite.
Voltage Electricity is supplied at 240 volts (50 hertz). An adapter is needed if travelling from Continental Europe or further afield.
Insurance Travellers from the UK are advised to take out travel insurance when visiting the Channel Islands. The islands lie outside the EU, which means that the European Heath Insurance Card (EHIC) is not valid.
