Condor Ferries invites local residents onboard

Offering free fun for all the family, Condor Ferries' Condor Express will be moored in Poole Quay next Tuesday (26 June) from 3pm where visitors will be able to take a tour of the fast ferry, visit the bridge, meet the Captain, and even enter a quiz to win a fantastic family holiday to the Channel Islands!

Condor Ferries is inviting local residents to come onboard to find out more about day trips and holidays to its destinations in the Channel Islands and France.

Extra conventional ferry sailing to help passengers

Severe weather in the English Channel has forced the cancellation of three high - speed ferry services between Poole and the Channel Islands.

Today's 1530 departure from Poole and the return leg which arrives into Poole at 0145, tomorrow 8 June, have been cancelled. In addition, both tomorrow's crossings between Poole and the Channel Islands have also been cancelled.

Ken Soar, Group Director, Passenger Division of Condor Ferries, commented:

"We are pleased that Weymouth & Portland Chamber of Commerce and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council echo our aim and recognise the importance of Weymouth as the gateway to the Channel Islands, and the significant opportunities that the connection represents for the town.

"We welcome the Council's proposal to start works this month and to make funding for the repairs to the quay wall a priority.
