Media statement on industrial action

Capt. Fran Collins, Operations Manager at Condor Ferries said:

"Condor Ferries services between Weymouth and St Malo will operate to the published schedule and passengers due to travel on Thursday should check in as normal.

"At the moment, we expect that our port operations will not be significantly affected by the industrial action. Condor Ferries will continue to work with the UKBA to minimise and mitigate any impact this action might have on our passengers."

Condor Ferries Channel Companion visits Jersey

Holly Eddings, the winner of the Condor Ferries Channel Companion competition will be in the island this weekend visiting some of Jersey's sights and attractions so she can write about them on her Channel Companion blog. 

Holly, 21, has just graduated from Southampton Solent University with a degree in magazine journalism and feature writing. She was chosen by leading travel writer, Simon Calder to spend this summer travelling between the Channel Islands and St Malo whilst describing her experiences in the blog.

Condor Ferries launches new television campaign

The benefits of travelling to Jersey be ferry will be revealed to television audiences across the South from tomorrow as Condor Ferries launches its new television advertising campaign. Created and funded in partnership with Jersey Tourism, the four-week campaign aims to highlight how easy it is to take a car ferry to this beautiful island destination. It's also the first time that the two organisations have worked together on television advertising. 

The warmest place in the British Isles, Jersey is ideal for holidaymakers seeking a summer escape without the need for long-haul flights.

Condor Ferries on track with repairs as unseasonal gales blow in

With unseasonal gales and very strong winds due to affect the operations of Condor Ferries this weekend, the company has confirmed that the repairs to Condor Rapide and Condor Vitesse are on track. The gearbox bearing in one of the four engines on Condor Rapide was repaired by Friday morning and work to fix the main engine bearing on Condor Vitesse is expected to finish on Saturday [18 June]. 

In order to provide passengers with the most convenient crossing times, the ferry company has cancelled on services in their network which was due to operate from Weymouth this afternoon at 1630.

Condor responds to self-catering concerns

Alicia Andrews, Sales and Marketing Director, Condor Ferries said:

"Our commercial team works closely with all sectors of Guernsey's tourism and economy and works hard to ensure that our timetable benefits the majority of people and businesses. 

"In April, a few self-catering operators raised some concerns about the changes to our Poole services, which had been launched in December 2010 following discussions with the relevant States bodies.

Condor response to Guernsey Press

Ian Milner, Guernsey Director of Condor Ferries, said: 

"We are very disappointed to hear about the complaint from this family, however, we do not comment publicly on individual cases but will be looking into the circumstances of the complaint as well as continuing our review of the provisions for refreshment and general facilities on our ferries. 

"With regard to the complaint about the family being stuck in the car check - in area, which is owned and operated by Weymouth Council and we will be passing this customer feedback on to the Council, to help them improve their facilities.

Condor Ferries schedule changes

Over the very busy weekend at the end of Half Term, a number of Condor Ferries sailings were rescheduled to reflect the need to operate on three engines after technical problems with both Condor Rapide and Condor Vitesse. 

On Friday a main engine bearing that had only just been replaced on Condor Vitesse was found to be overheating and as a precaution the engine was shut down to prevent further damage. All the bearings in this engine was shut down to prevent further damage.
