Condor Ferries makes major investment in new ferry for the route to St Malo

Condor Ferries announced today that it has invested in a larger ferry to operate on the route between Guernsey and St Malo. The ship, which is to be called Condor Rapide will replace Condor 10 and is expected to come into service before the Spring Bank Holiday. Condor Rapide is an 86m Incat fast catamaran and is a younger sister to both Condor Vitesse and Condor Express.

Condor Ferries adds new fast catamaran to fleet

Condor Ferries has added a further wave-piercing fast catamaran to its fleet.

The new ship, which is called Condor Rapide, is a younger sister of the well-known ferries Condor Vitesse and Condor Express and will be coming to Weymouth where she will be prepared for service in Condor Ferries livery inside and out during April.

Condor Ferries operates ferries to France and the Channel Islands of Guernsey and Jersey out of Poole, Weymouth and Portsmouth.

Spring clean ensures all is ship-shape

Condor Ferries' Captain Chad Murray inspects the hull of the £30m wave piercing catamaran Condor Express in Weymouth harbour as part of final fleet checks before the start of the holiday season for the Channel Islands and France.

The ferry, which has a service speed of close to 40 knots, is one of a fleet of vessels based in Dorset ports of Poole and Weymouth. The company also sails out of Portsmouth. 

Condor Express and her sister ship Condor Vitesse can carry up to 742 passengers and 175 vehicles. Each year Condor Ferries carries some 900,000 passengers and 200,000 passenger vehicles between the UK, Channel Islands and France.

Condor Ferries welcome green light for twin sails bridge project

A leading Poole ferry company has welcomed news that the long-awaited Twin Sails Bridge project has been given the go ahead. 

Condor Ferries operates fast ferry services to France and the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey from the town and believes the new bridge will provide a major boost for the town and surrounding area.
