Condor welcomes MAIB report into Commodore Clipper fire

Condor Ferries welcomes the publication and findings of the Marine Accident Investigation Branch's (MAIB) report into fire on board Commodore Clipper during the night of 16 June 2010.

The report identifies the cause of the fire as being overheating in an electrical cable that provided power from the ship to a refrigerated trailer unit. It finds that Condor's crew, in consultation with the emergency services, made the right decisions in keeping passengers onboard the ferry for the duration of the incident. It also praises the crew's efforts in bringing everyone on the ship, safely to shore.
