Record-Breaking Response to Community Award

A record-breaking 27 entries have been received for the Condor Ferries’ Community Award, part of the Jersey Enterprise Awards 2011.

A wide range of people and organisations have been nominated for the award, from larger charitable organisations to community groups and nominations for individuals.

Deadline approaches to nominate Jersey's unsung heroes

Monday's deadline for nominations for the Condor Ferries Community Award is fast approaching and people who know of an organisation or individual that they believe deserves recognition for their work in the Island's community, are being urged to nominate them for the award.

The Condor Ferries Community Award forms part of the upcoming Jersey Enterprise Awards and is aimed at recognising those individuals or organisations that work hard to improve Jersey's community.

Adverse weather disrupts high-speed ferry services

Adverse weather conditions across the English Channel, which are forecast to exceed permitted operational limits, have caused the cancellation of fast ferry services from Weymouth and from the Channel Islands on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 January.

The all-weather conventional ferry service continues to operate between Portsmouth, Guernsey and Jersey, transporting freight between the Islands and the UK and as many passengers as possible are being transferred to this ship to complete their journeys despite the prolonged period of stormy weather.
