Guernsey in Pictures

With photography experts the length of the island now offering workshops and master classes with courses to suit all abilities, there's never been a better time to get snapping.

Photography Workshops with Karl Taylor Photography

St Peter Port Guernsey born and bred, Karl has been a professional pgotographer and lecturer for over 15 years and has travelled the globe as a photojournalist . Today his studio specialises in commercial and advertising photography for some of the world's biggest businesses and advertising agencies. A passion for landscapes, Karl's limited-edition prints of Guernsey seascapes sell all over the world. In 2009 his island images were shortlisted for the Hasselblad Masters Award, one of the most prestigious international awards for photographic excellence.

Karl's three-day workshops start with the basics of apertures and shutter speeds and move on to more advanced techniques such as landscape and macro photography. He also offers one-to-one photography master classes on request.

Karl says: "Guernsey offers photographers the unique opportunity of being able to capture dramatic coastal sunrises ans sunsets in the same day. There are few places in the world where you can drive such short distance from the west coast to the east coast and benefit from dramatic views and perfect light conditions whilst getting a clear shot of the sun over the sea. The variety of coastal landscape on Guernsey is something I never tire of - there's always something new to photograph."
